Hoover senior fellow Rauh launches online course on retirement financing

On Thursday, December 5, Hoover senior fellow and Stanford’s Graduate School of Business professor Joshua Rauh will moderate a free 45-minute webinar entitled "The Crisis in Public Employee Pensions" featuring four panelists: Richard Ravitch, the former Lieutenant Governor of New York State from 2009 to 2010; Sean McShea, the president of Ryan Labs, which provides liability-matching financial strategies to pension funds; David Crane, the former special assistant to Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and a lecturer in Public Policy at Stanford University; and Mark Dingley, the deputy Treasurer and General Counsel for Office of Treasurer of Rhode Island, which has implemented pathbreaking public reform. The webinar will discuss how US state and local governments have accumulated trillions of dollars of unfunded pension liabilities and how to address the problem, and then answer questions asked via Twitter (use the #rauhfinance hashtag). The webinar is part of Rauh’s online course The Finance of Retirement Pensions, which covers retirement savings and investment strategies to maximize your assets.
