Hoover’s new David and Joan Traitel Building, now less than six months from completion, is taking shape faster than ever as the final elements are added to the building and landscape. With cranes and other heavy equipment long gone, crews are hanging blinds, laying tile, planting trees, and putting other finishing touches on what will be one of the most significant milestones in Hoover’s nearly hundred-year history. In addition, crews have begun installing artwork and interior displays that tell the story of the Hoover Institution’s evolution in a way that new visitors and old friends will both find interesting.
This major investment in Hoover’s capacity for policy research, education, and convening supporters and key audiences owes to the generosity of several vitally important Hoover donors: lead project donors David and Joan Traitel, as well as Art and Joanne Hall, Everett “Sparky” and Jane Hauck, Bill Blount, and Stephen Bechtel. A number of supporters enjoyed a private walk-through highlighting the building’s progress during Hoover’s recent 2017 Spring Retreat.
