Carmen M. Allison serves as the chief human resources and business enablement officer at the Hoover Institution. With a dedicated team of twenty-six, she oversees all aspects of the Institution’s people strategy, including cultivating an engaging culture, talent development, recruiting, organizational design, performance management, and HR administration. Additionally, she leads a business enablement technology solutions team of six, focusing on assessing and enhancing systems and technology to improve productivity and efficiency across Hoover. She brings over twenty-nine years of experience in human resources, having held leadership roles at PepsiCo/YumBrands, Gap Inc., and Williams-Sonoma Inc., where she was the SVP of Human Resources for the Pottery Barn Brands. Her educational background includes a BS in business from Northern Arizona University, an MBA, and an EdD in education from the University of Pennsylvania. She is also a certified executive coach from Columbia University and an agile scrum practitioner.  Her rich background extends to military service; Allison is a US Army veteran who served in Ft. Bliss, Texas; Taegu, Korea; and at West Point Military Academy during Operation Desert Storm. She currently resides in San Francisco with her family.
