This month we celebrate honors earned by two scholars—one senior and one just beginning—but both connected to the Hoover Library & Archives. Dr. Maciej Siekierski, Curator of European Collections, was awarded the distinguished Medal of the 75thAnniversary of Jan Karski's Mission for his decades of service in studying, collecting, preserving, interpreting, and making available historical documents crucial to understanding the history of Poland. And Stanford sophomore Kyle Duchynski received the Stanford Introductory Seminars Excellence Award for his essay written as a participant in the class “The Soviet Union and the World: Views from the Hoover Archives.” The course was taught by Professor and Hoover Senior Fellow Norman Naimark and Robert Conquest Curator for Russia and Eurasia Anatol Shmelev.

It is our honor to continue to make our collections available to a wide range of researchers and scholars who produce significant, timely work for this and future generations.
