Staff members at the Library & Archives were recently sent a wonderful gift from colleagues at the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library in West Branch, Iowa–our very own Hoover-Ball set! History buffs and visitors to our Hoover Tower rotunda gallery (which displays an original, signed Hoover-Ball from the Hoover administration) will know that Herbert Hoover introduced the game (a combination of tennis and volleyball) to the White House Lawn in 1929. Do YOU want to play Hoover-Ball? Ask a Library & Archives staff member about the game, or consider registering for the annual Hoover's Hometown Days tournament sponsored by our friends at the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library! And you can read all about the history of Hoover-Ball here.
