The Hoover Institution hosted the HESI November Symposium on Thursday, November 14, 2019 through Friday, November 15, 2019.

The annual Hoover Education Success Initiative Symposium was an opportunity to present first drafts of two institutional papers to education leaders from across the country.  All contributing paper authors and members of the HESI Practitioner Council were invited to attend.  The symposium was structured to provide significant opportunity for individual Practitioner Council members to offer reactions and reflections that are grounded in both national trends and their local context.

The inaugural Symposium was held over two days in November 2019 at the Hoover Institution, with one major topic discussed each day.  Hoover Fellow Eric Hanushek presented a draft of HESI’s paper on educator compensation reform on Day One and Hoover Fellow Macke Raymond presented a draft of HESI’s paper on high school graduation requirements and pathways on Day Two.
