The Hoover Institution is pleased to announce the launch of its first iPad app, which can be downloaded for free from the Apple app store from Stanford University at http://hvr.co/HooverApp.

“The objective, to coincide with the redesign of our website, was to make our scholarly research and tools more accessible to Hoover’s many audiences. The app is yet another tool to serve as a platform for expanding the reach of our fellows and elevating the policy debate with ideas defining a free society,” stated John Raisian, Director of the Hoover Institution.

The launch of the app concludes a comprehensive process, which helped identify what Hoover followers most care about in terms of content, research and access to ideas. The app contains tens of thousands of pieces of content organized so that information can be found and discovered in a logical and intuitive fashion, no matter the topic or media format.  The simplified menu and filtering tools improve ease of use by incorporating restructured and streamlined research topics. For visitors looking for a specific item, a robust search engine quickly finds content to match the keywords.

“Our website user base has grown significantly over the years, and the app gives us another way to meet the demand for more customized content among our consumers. Our team is quite pleased with the result,” stated Chris Dauer, Director of Marketing and Strategic Communications at the Hoover Institution.

In celebration of the launch of the app, the Hoover Institution is giving away a free iPad Air preloaded with the application. Winners will be announced soon.
