Archbishop Charles J. Chaput has led the Roman Catholic diocese of Denver since 1997. He grew up in Kansas, became a Franciscan in 1965, and was ordained to the priesthood in 1970. He holds degrees from St. Fidelis College, Catholic University, and Capuchin College. Archbishop Chaput is the author, most recently, of Render unto Caesar: Serving the Nation by Living Our Catholic Beliefs in Political Life.
