Politico:  How hard will Senate Republicans fight the Kagan Supreme Court nomination? Will legal lefties vent their anger at the White House for not picking a full-throated liberal progressives to battle Scalia and Alito?

Kenneth Scott:  I think law professors generally would regard Kagan as very well-qualified, professionally and intellectually, which of course may not be what the Hill is interested in. As dean at Harvard, she also showed an ability to build consensus in a sometimes quite polarized environment, which is an ability that could serve her well on this court. And if the Republicans dig in for a serious battle in the Senate, I doubt that will serve them well.
