A delegation from the Archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China visited the Hoover Archives on Tuesday, April 10, 2012. Led by Ambassador Chongli Guo, director general of the Archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the delegation included researchers Sulin Zhang and Mitao Wang. Consul Zhen Liu and Vice Consul Zhouzhou Bian of the Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco accompanied the delegation.

Linda Bernard, deputy archivist at the Hoover Institution Library and Archives, welcomed the delegation on behalf of David Brady, acting director of the library and archives. The delegation also met with Hsiao-ting Lin and Lisa H. Nguyen, curators of the East Asian Collection at Hoover, who acquainted the group with Hoover’s holdings on China. Displayed materials included correspondence, manuscripts, and photos from the Chiang Kai-shek diaries, Joshua Powers collection, T. V. Soong papers, Nym Wales papers, and Zhongguo Gong Chan Dang issuances.
