John Abizaid

Retired U.S. Army general John Abizaid was a distinguished visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution until August 31, 2010. Abizaid holds an advanced degree from Harvard; he served as commandant of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and as commander of the U.S. Central Command. Abizaid was the first to be named an Annenberg Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Hoover Institution; he was a National Security Affairs Fellow at Hoover in 1992–93.
