Etienne Wasmer was a visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution. Wasmer is a professor of economics at Sciences Po Paris. His interests lie in the areas of labor economics, macroeconomics, and public policy evaluation. He has developed search and matching models of the labor market, financial markets, and goods markets and has a forthcoming book on Advances in Matching Models at MIT Press (2017). His research has been published in the American Economic Review, the Journal of the European Economic Association, and the Journal of Monetary Economics. He is the founding codirector of Sciences-Po LIEPP (an interdisciplinary center for the evaluation of public policies). He has recently written on bubbles and the labor market, the share of housing in the secular rise in capital to GDP ratio, and the long-run development of cities using data from two million notable people.
