STANFORD—California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger attended a roundtable meeting at the Hoover Institution following his presentation to the 2006 TechNet Innovation Summit at Stanford University today. Schwarzenegger met with Hoover fellows and TechNet members to discuss technology trends and public policies.
"It was an honor and privilege to meet with the governor during his visit,” said Hoover director John Raisian. “We had a stimulating discussion of relevant public policy issues. Hoover Institution fellows have been pleased to offer ideas for thoughtful consideration and are excited to be part of a continuing dialogue going forward.”
The Hoover Institution has been a resource on public policy matters for the governor since he first became a candidate. A number of Hoover fellows serve in the Schwarzenegger administration, including Hoover distinguished fellow George P. Shultz, chairman of the California Governor's Council of Economic Advisers, and Hoover fellows Annelise Anderson, Martin Anderson, Gary Becker, Michael Boskin, John Cogan, Milton Friedman, John Shoven, and James Sweeney, all of whom serve as members of the council.
