
Colonel Chuji Ando

Research: the future of security frameworks in the Asian Pacific Region and relationships with a rising China

Colonel Chuji Ando graduated from the National Defense Academy of Japan and, the Air Command and Staff College (AY2000) of the United States Air Force. He is also a graduate of the fifty-sixth regular course of the National Institute for Defense Studies of Japan, where he has done research on Japan-Australia defense cooperation. His operational tours include flying F-4EJ fighter aircraft and commanding an F-4 squadron at Misawa Air Base, Japan. Through his staff assignments at the Joint Staff Office, Air Staff Office, and the Eastern Army Headquarters, he has conducted joint/bilateral operations with U.S. forces and, annual defense and personnel programs. His research area is security problems in the Northeast Asia, including Japan’s relationship with a rising China.
