Paul R. Gregory, a research fellow at the Hoover Institution, and Norman M. Naimark, a senior fellow at the Institution, published a volume of essays titled The Lost Politburo Transcripts: From Collective Rule to Stalin's Dictatorship (2008). William Chase, a professor of history at the University of Pittsburgh, reviewed the collection, writing that “this volume of twelve essays is a welcome contribution to the historiography of interwar Soviet history. . . . Paul Gregory’s introductory essay provides a lucid discussion of the available transcripts and how they came to be publically accessible.”
