Lieutenant Colonel Brant Eggers

Biography: 

Brant Eggers, representing the United States Marine Corps, was a national security affairs fellow for the academic year 2013–14 at the Hoover Institution.

In 1993, Eggers was designated a communications officer in the United States Marine Corps. He has a master’s degree from the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island, in national security and strategic studies. Prior education includes a bachelor of arts’ degree in political science, with a minor in prelaw, from California State University, Bakersfield. Throughout his military career, he has served in multiple positions within the marine corps, as well as participating in several Western Pacific and Operation Iraqi Freedom deployments. Most recently, he served as the commanding officer of the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps at UC Berkeley and inspector instructor of Sixth Communications Battalion in Brooklyn, New York. While at Hoover, he plans to focus his research on the United States' role in cybersecurity.
