About

Nicolas Petrosky-Nadeau was a National Fellow for the 2013-14 academic year.

He is a macroeconomist interested in the functioning of labor and credit markets in the presence of trading frictions. At Hoover, his work focuses on deep recessions with high unemployment, with special attention to the role of housing as collateral for consumer credit in goods markets.

In addition to his Hoover appointment, Petrosky-Nadeau is an assistant professor of economics at Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business. His work has generated new knowledge on the interaction of credit and labor markets in determining job creation and business-cycle fluctuations in unemployment. His work has also yielded new insights into the links between the performance of the labor market and the pricing of assets.

Petrosky-Nadeau holds a PhD in economics from both the University of Quebec at Montreal and Sciences Po in Paris, France.
