Norman Schofield was a national fellow at the Hoover Institution and was in residence from May to July 2009.

At Washington University in Saint Louis, he is the Taussig Professor of Political Economy, director of the Center in Political Economy, and professor in the departments of both economics and political science.

His field of research is social choice and formal democratic theory.

Schofield’s undergraduate degrees were in mathematics and physics from Liverpool University, from which he also holds a LittD. In addition he has PhDs in government and economics from Essex University and one in economic science from the University of Caen.
