Robert Service, a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution, professor of Russian History at the University of Oxford (United Kingdom) and a noted Russian historian and political commentator, gave various talks in Estonia on May 26, 2011, including “How to Make Sense of Communism” as well as television and print media interviews on his books Comrades!: A History of World Communism and Trotsky: A Biography. On May 29, 2011, Service was interviewed by Mart Laar, former prime minister of Estonia at the Tallinn Literature Festival.

More than twenty-five audiotapes from the papers of Barbara Nawratowicz have been digitized for preservation and access by Hoover's audio lab. Nawratowicz was the music director of Radio Free Europe's Polish service; the recordings comprise both spoken-word and musical genres. Many of the recordings are undated; those with dates range from 1952 to 1991.
